Christmas in our New Home

I got some new holiday gifts and inspiration from the internet so of course I had to switch some things around to make use of my new stuff!

Here it is again using the accent color feature on my camera... I think it looks so cool this way!

The Oh Come Let Us Adore Him sign is a free printable from akadesign and I love how it turned out! My friend gave me the red sparkly candle and my other friend gave me the santa wine glass and the greenery. The angel wing trays I got from Joss and Main.  The tray I already had and I just laid some fun wrapping paper in it to spice it up.

I also just bought this chest from there as a Christmas present to myself and I am super-excited about it! Usually I don't like to spend that much, but I just couldn't resist.  There are so many places in the house I could use it!  We also bought our new KING SIZE memory foam mattress last weekend!!!  Typically I am terrible at making decisions like this, but as soon as I laid in this bed I was in love. And luckily Greg agreed and it was on the cheaper side of the memory foams so we could afford it. The mattress, box spring, frame and two pillows came out to $2,000 (including tax, delivery, etc).  It was about $500 more than we wanted to spend, but you can't put a price on a good night's sleep right?  (That's how I'm going to justify it :)). Did you know memory foam mattresses can cost up to $8,000!?!?  Sheesh!

This is the comforter set I bought and I love the contrast with the dark headboard so I'm going to attempt to make the one in this picture. Plans are underway so I will keep you updated!

*Deck Update: We decided to wait until the weather warms up to finish the deck. We still have a few minor things we can do between then and now (including choosing our decking), but we probably won't start laying the deck boards until March or so.*

Merry Christmas to all of my blogger friends and followers!!

Christmas Decorating

We still haven't gotten around to any outdoor decorating besides throwing a wreath on the door, but I did put up some decorations inside to get into the Christmas spirit.  Nothing crazy... just our old skinny tree from my old apartment (we'll get a bigger one next year) and some other odds and ends that I already had.  Here are some pictures:

Family room

My MIL (mother-in-law) made this for us... isn't it lovely?  I've never had a live wreath before!

That white tree was my mom's mom's tree when she was little so it's been in the family for many years. I never met my grandmother and my mother died 4 1/2 years ago, so this tree is very special to me. And it matches my decor perfectly!

Morning room
The snow globe on the left table was a gift from my cousin and it's from St. Jude's Children's Hospital, which was my mom's favorite charity so that's pretty special to me too. And the two silver trees on the other table I found in my parents' attic the other day. My mom had good taste :).

The morning room is about the only room I have somewhat finished furnishing.  I still want to do an area rug and some window treatments, but I'm happy with how it looks for now.

I got this idea for our Christmas Card display from IHeart Organizing.  We have it on our pantry door.  I'm thinking maybe I should have sent a change of address notice, because we have not gotten nearly enough Christmas cards yet!!

And last but not least, the powder room:

In other news, my amazing husband just got an awesome raise and bonus at work so now we can buy new couches!  Bring on the shopping!!!
