It's been so hard to find the time to blog lately, but I assure you we have
been busy little bees here at the Montague household! I got a good bit of
painting done inside (including one extra exciting feature which I will share a
picture of later!) and Greg has been working his tail off (literally) on the
outside (more on that below). Our deck is almost finished too! We got the
concrete poured for the base of our steps last week and we will hopefully be
finishing the steps and the remainder of the railings next weekend. My dad
spent an entire weekend measuring and prepping for these steps. I just had to
be difficult and insist on these fancy steps :).
Our lawn looks great! Greg cut the whole 1.5 acres with a non-self
propelled push mower the other day!! I couldn't believe it. We inherited a
free riding mower, but it's not working just yet. And we also inherited a free
push mower (that works). My man has some ambition, I'll tell you! He also
surprised me two weekends ago by building the cutest fenced-in raised veggie
garden while I was away in Boston. It's not quite finished, but it looks so
good so far and we even planted a few cold-weather crops last weekend. We'll be
planting the rest next weekend hopefully. And then Peter can have a place to
run outside finally!!
I will post some pictures of the garden soon!

GREG ROCKS!!
ReplyDeleteCan't see the pictures of the finished DECK! AND I am sure you would have missed the fancy steps if you did not ask for them!! It's best to have what you want than regret it later. You all did a fantastic job with the DECK! THUMBS UP!
DeleteI just saw that you left a comment on my blog and here is the funny thing. I just bookmarked your deck to show my husband because we haven't built ours yet and what you guys have done is pretty much what I want. The only thing I want to do different is I want to screen in the part coming out of the sliding door from our breakfast room. We can't build it ourselves so we have no idea what the cost is gonna be. How awesome that you guys were able to buy the materials and do it yourselves. We have to call an get some estimates. Your home is beautiful! Love, love, love it!
ReplyDeleteThe deck is looking amazing!!! You guys are doing a great job! We are building our first home with Ryan Homes..a Ravenna and I just started my blog. I can't wait until we can start thinking about a deck!
