Greg is very excited to be able to park in a driveway for the first time in his life. When we were still living in the city he would come in after looking for parking for 15 minutes after work almost every day and say, "I can't wait to be able to just pull into my driveway after work!" (Anyone who has ever lived in a city knows that parking (or lack thereof) is probably the worst thing about city life.) When Greg was living with his parents, he parked in the street... Then when he moved out with his buddies, they still didn't have a driveway so he had to park in the street... And neither of the two places we have lived together since we've been married had any off-street parking...
Greg finally gets his very own brand new driveway!!! (Well, he has to share it with me, but I think it's plenty big enough for the both of us). :)
YAY for Greg! The love of a parking space for the first time I can definitely relate too! I know all to well about the lack of parking spaces as a native New Yorker!!
ReplyDeleteSame here, Nadase. We lived in a townhouse with off-street parking, but unassigned spaces on a parking lot in front of the homes. My next-door neighbor ran daycare out of her home, so parking was a constant battle and a source of contention between the residents and the daycare parents. How I love pulling into my very own driveway and my very own garage for the first time ever (especially in the rain we've had in Maryland lately).
DeleteCongrats on the driveway! What's even nicer is parking it inside the garage especially when it's pouring rain (or snow!) outside.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Congrats! And I hear ya. We didn't have a driveway at our last place either. And I've never had a garage as an adult. So psyched.
